Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident right from the first day she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks following the first time she tried out. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed an athletic contract with Adidas. Then she attended college at the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set the record of world juniors for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. In 2005, she was the youngest 200-meter world champion of all time at the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007 by over her former Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She always finished among the top three in all events.
