Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on the 18th of November 1985. Her birthplace was Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained pastor of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix's aptitude for sports was evident as early as the day she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She then enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. A year later Felix won her very first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an unofficial junior world record doing 200 meters with a time of 22.18 seconds. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest World Champion in the 200m at the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, over her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She was consistently among the top three in all events.
